David
is a life-long resident of Washington County Indiana.
David was the second youngest Washington County
Council member ever elected and served on the County Council
for eight years. He also served two terms as the Salem and
Washington Township Assessor. As Assessor, he never requested
an increase in his budget even though more than 67% of the
county's assessed valuation
was within his district. As a local entrepreneur and merchant for over
30 years, he has demonstrated a winning combination of hard
work and
leadership. He pledges to capitalize on these attributes
in his service to the City of Salem.
Based on his long-term experiences in a business
and marketing environment, David brings a unique perspective
of how city and county government
can benefit greatly by working more
closely together.
He clearly understands that a healthy and growth-oriented business structure
needs, and deserves, a partner in local government. He intends
to
facilitate
that
partnership
and pledges to
use every tool available to serve Salem's existing and future business needs.
David has been married to the former Jamie
Bennett for 33 years and they have two children; son Ryan
Bower and wife Stephanie have three children, Ethan, Lucas
and Audrey; daughter Megan Bower-Cissna and husband Steve
have two children, Andrew and Nicholas. Ryan is a local attorney
and Megan is an employee of the Washington County Prosecutor’s
Office.
