Community Block Walks
Mayor Dave Bower, Fire Chief Roger Pennington, Street and Sanitation Department Superintendent Tom Voyles, and Building and Safety Department Superintendent Ronnie Voyles recently went out on one of their monthly Block Walks. This was one of the mayor’s campaign promises, to go out and talk to residents on a regular basis to listen to their concerns and input on things they’d like to see changed or improved. City department heads join him when available. Here, residents John and Jennifer Eddings are discussing some issues with Mayor Bower. John is interested in the progress at the airport and Jennifer is interested in obtaining a teaching position.  They’re concerned with bringing more jobs to the community and the quality of drinking water. Bower takes the monthly walks seriously and wants residents to know he is doing his best to represent them.
