City of Salem Sidewalk Improvements
Mayor Dave Bower, along with city employees Tom Voyles and Ronnie Voyles, paid a visit to the corner of Walnut and Main to see the progress of the sidewalk improvement project in front of Blue River Services.  Their goal is to improve sidewalks in high traffic areas and also those that aren’t handicap accessible.  The next phase of this project is to improve the sidewalks running along North Main Street in front of the old Chamber of Commerce location.  That building is slated to be demolished and turned into parking for the Library this summer.
